Working model of a volcano in paper mache

Started building the skeleton with cardboard strips around a plastic bottle. The crater is the open outh of the bottle. Added multi layered strips of butter paper dipped in all purpose flour and let it dry in the sun for a day. Repeated process twice with detailings of rocks and clumps added on.

Painted the base grey and dripped fevicol for texture when it solidified.Ground foam in mixer and coloured them for tree clumps. Added more details with acrylic colour and finally coated the model with fevicol solution to water proof the syructure.

For the lava, vinegar was poured into the mouth of the volacano with red food colour and baking soda added for the eruption.
